After an early start on Sunday 9th May the Gateway Singers set off with great trepidation to compete at the Navan Choral Festival. As this was our first Southern competition we had no idea what to expect. It was a great experience to see and hear the other competitors and when we came third in the Sacred Music section it give us a great boost.Thanks to John and Claire for putting us through our paces and when the judges reports were read they coincided with what they had been saying all along, so in future we need to listen carefully to what they tell us and put into practice for future performances. We had a fun day and the journey was more enjoyable as the Italian Base singer Dario, our driver for the day, managed to get us there and back in one piece.!!!
